The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations became law in the UK with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of waste batteries, in May 2009.
A network of battery collection points has been set up to give customers the access to dispose of their waste batteries. The waste batteries are then collected and recycled appropriately.
All batteries and their packaging now have a "crossed-out wheeled bin" symbol, indicating that the battery should be recycled and not thrown away with household waste.
You can find your nearest collection point by visiting a Next Store. Or visit www.recycle-more.co.uk and enter your postcode into the battery recycling point locator.
