NEXT is proud to partner with The Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL) to provide a convenient way for you to donate your unwanted textile items. By donating, you are helping to raise vital funds for The Salvation Army and the great work they do with the most vulnerable across the UK.
How Your Donation Makes a Difference
When you send your items to SATCoL, they are processed in The Salvation Army warehouse based in the East Midlands.
-
Resale & Reuse: Items suitable for resale will be distributed to SATCoL’s 250 retail stores across the country and online platform.
-
Textile-to-Textile Recycling: A joint venture between Salvation Army Trading Company and Project Plan B, known as Project Re:claim is the first commercial-scale, post-consumer polyester recycling plant of its kind. Project Re:claim can recycle post-consumer garments and other textiles, and supply the raw material back into the fashion and textiles industries. Items donated, which are 100% polyester, can be processed through this leading technology.
- Recovery: Items that cannot be sold or processed through textile recycling may be repurposed into industrial materials wherever possible. For example, 100% cotton is currently recycled for use within industrial applications, giving worn-out textiles a second life, while some blended materials can be converted into furniture filling.
